Am I required to display my new address on my residence or other building?: Yes. Garland County Addressing Ordinance 0-16-16 of May 9, 2016, requires that all homes, businesses, shops, boat docks, and other inhabited structures, must display their address conspicuously above, on, or at the side of the proper door, and must be visible from the street or roadway. 1. What should I do if I have questions about Emergency Preparedness?: There are numerous resources available for information regarding preparation for disaster events, however, you may call our office at 501-767-3911 and we will put you in touch with the correct agency.

2. What if I have damages during a disaster event?: First thing is safety and if you need immediate emergency services call 911. If you need assistance after the event contact our office at 501-767-3911 and we will direct you to the correct agency.

What is a floodplain?: Areas of Garland County that are subject to flooding during a major rain event, in which the capacity of creeks, streams, rivers, or lakes are overrun, are considered Special Flood Hazard Areas, as determined by FEMA. 5. How do I know if I am in a Special Flood Hazard Area?: You may check you address online at FEMA and enter your address for a determination, or contact the office of the Garland County Floodplain Administrator at 501-767-3911.

6. What if I am in one of the Special Flood Hazard Areas?: If any portion of your land parcel falls within an area designated as a Special Flood Hazard Area, you must apply for a Floodplain Permit to develop/build, per Garland County Ordinance 0-09-58 of December 15, 2009.
