The National Weather Service reports from five to as much as eight inches of rain fell across much of central and western Arkansas through noon Wednesday (February 21). Heavy rain is forecast across Arkansas through the weekend (February 25), with over six inches of additional rain possible in places. Rain will shift into the southeast half of the this afternoon into early Thursday (February 21-22). Another round of rain will hit mainly northern and western sections of Arkansas Thursday night and Friday (February 22-23). A final round of showers and thunderstorms will affect most of the region Saturday/early Sunday (February 24-25).

Rain will shift into the southeast half of the state this afternoon and into early Thursday (February 21-22). Another round of rain will hit mainly northern and western sections of Arkansas Thursday night and Friday (February 22-23). A final round of showers and thunderstorms will affect most of the region Saturday/early Sunday (February 24-25).

Another round of heavy rain will affect the southwest, central and northeast Thursday night into Friday (February 22-23). There is a slight chance (10% to 20%) that the heavy rain will exceed flash flood guidance in the northwest and southeast.

There will likely be multiple rounds of heavy to excessive rain, with the potential of flash flooding and river flooding.
