Jim Sorrells, Justice of the Peace
I come from four generations of cattlemen at Royal, Arkansas where I now live and help work the family farm. I recently retired from the City of Hot Springs as Facilities Manager over both Wastewater Treatment plants and City of Hot Springs Compost Facility.
Previous employers are:
- 1984 to 2005, Sorrells Research Associates, as Laboratory Production Manager.
- 1975 – 1992 Democrat Printing and Litho as Head Pressman.
- 2002 – 2016 Ouachita Civilian Conservation Center (Job Corp) Wastewater Treatment Operator/Manager.
I served in the United States Marine Corps – Honorably Discharge 1974.
I am a Christian and a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church.
I served in the past as Vice President of the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association Area 6 and on The Board of Director for Garland County Southern Farm Bureau.
I believe in our country and our county. I know I can serve our county as Justice of the Peace for District 10 with an honest, caring heart. I truly love Garland County and will love serving its residents.
About District 10
District 10 is a very diverse area. It has subdivisions, large agricultural lands and everything in between. One of the most unique things about District 10 is that it is only one of two districts that reach both Lake Hamilton and Lake Ouachita. This makes for tough decisions for holidays and Saturdays as both lakes are great. It is great to live in an area where people come to relax, unplug and vacation.
