General Information

Marriage licenses are issued M-F, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No appointment is necessary.  Based on the number of customers at any given time, the process of obtaining a marriage license is approximately 15-20 minutes.

A marriage license is valid for sixty (60) days. If the marriage license has not been used and is older than sixty (60) days, the license is then expired and considered void. At this point, applicants are required to start the process over and purchase a new marriage license.

Marriage licenses must be signed and completed by a marriage officiant whose credentials have been registered in a County Clerk's office within the State of Arkansas.

All completed marriage licenses must be recorded within the same county in which they were purchased.  Completed marriage licenses may be recorded in person or by mail.  If mailing, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope to ensure your marriage license will be returned to the correct address. If in person, the marriage license will be recorded and returned to you before you leave. There is no additional fee to file your marriage license.
