The County  Collector is responsible for collecting the ad valorem tax on Personal and Real Estate taxes, which includes municipal, county, library, school and improvement district taxes. By law, the collector is required to settle and disperse all tax revenue to the County Treasurer monthly.

Personal & Real Estate Taxes

Current Personal and Real Estate Taxes are due March 1st. Taxpayers have from March 1st to October 15th to pay. A 10% penalty, daily interests, and advertising fee will be added if not received or postmarked by October 15th. Partial payments in any amount may be made on current taxes only.

Personal Taxes must be paid before or at the same time as Real Estate Taxes.

Assessing Personal Property

Assessing and paying personal property tax on time will minimize inconveniences and save money when getting vehicle tags. You must assess personal property between January 1st and May 31st.  You must pay property taxes between March 1st and October 15th of each year.
