          Jo has served Garland County for half of her life…26 years. Before being elected Garland County Treasurer in 1992, Jo was Chief-deputy Treasurer to Joe Poe for 10 years and a Deputy Tax Collector for 7 years. Jo is very active in Arkansas County Treasurer’s Association serving as Secretary/Treasurer since 1997 and is on the Executive Committee and Continuing Education Board. Educated at Magnet Cove Schools, Henderson University and the Garland County Community College, Jo has lived and worked in our community for 34 years.  A graduate of the University of Arkansas leadership Arkansas (LeadAR), Jo remains active in the program and a graduate of Leadership Hot Springs, Class 6. Jo is very active in community activities and has served on over 17 Boards and on numerous committees.  For the year of 2001, Jo contributed nearly 400 volunteer hours to the community and received recognition from the Chamber of Commerce as Outstanding Volunteer of the Year.  Jo also received the 2001 Democrat of the Year. Jo is married to Jackie Davis and they are members of Piney Grove United Methodist Church.  They have three children and three grandchildren.
